The challenge

Key Design Challenges & Tasks:

• Modernizing Portfolio Import (Web): Redesigning the entire portfolio import flow (emulating Klarna's XS2A experience) for the web application, moving logic to a SecAPI iframe
• Flexible Manual Entry (Web): Designing intuitive alternative pathways for manual portfolio entry within the web interface
• Intuitive Portfolio Editing UI (Web): Creating a new dedicated page for portfolio editing within the web application, featuring a two-column layout, comprehensive position management (list, search, group, add/remove), and a unified view for holdings, transactions, and dividends
• Handling Data Conflicts (Web): Designing clear visual states and interaction patterns for portfolio positions with data conflicts within the detailed editing interface
• User Feedback Integration (Web): Designing a simple feedback mechanism for reporting data issues within the portfolio editing view
• Designing a Mobile-Centric Dashboard: Creating a new dashboard view intended as the primary interface for mobile users (and potentially a summary view on desktop)
• Responsiveness (Core Application): Ensuring the core web application, including the import and detailed editing flows, remained accessible and usable across different device sizes

Our solution

Using Figma, the design process focused on mapping detailed user flows and creating wireframes and high-fidelity mockups primarily for the web application's import and portfolio editing features. This included designing the step-by-step import process, the manual entry forms, the two-column editing layout, conflict indicators, and the feedback mechanism.

Separately, dedicated design effort focused on the new Portfolio Dashboard view. This involved:

• Identifying key information users need for a quick overview
• Designing mobile-first layouts in Figma for this dashboard
• Ensuring easy navigation from the dashboard to more detailed views
